Star Wars Rogue One VR Experience is Epic!

Star Wars is back this Christmas with Rogue One, and it’s a little bit special.

That’s because it’s the first ever Star Wars Story – spin off tales which are different from anything else we’ve seen before. This isn’t about the extended Skywalker family we’ve been spending time with for the last 40 years, but an entirely new set of characters.

For Rogue One, we’re checking out the story of how the Rebels got the plans for the original Death Star, so it’s setting up the plot of 1977’s A New Hope! The film stars Felicity Jones as the leader of a band of mercenaries on a desperate mission.

Now you can step into this galaxy far, far away with immersive 360 degree video which uses the latest camera and virtual reality technology.

Lucasfilm’s ILMxLAB has created a new mini movie which gives you an idea of where the action of Rogue One starts and you can look anywhere you want, right from the cockpit of an X-Wing!

That’s pretty amazing stuff, even just when you watch it by scrolling around with a mouse and it’s even better if you load up the video in a VR headset and put in some earphones.

There’s even more going on as well, with a pretty amazing visit to the set of Rogue One where you can also look anywhere you like – you can watch that over here.

Rogue One A Star Wars Story is in cinemas in Ireland on the 15th of December, 2016.
