Wednesday saw Google hosting a special event in San Francisco were the company launched its latest range of Google Pixel smartphones alongside a number of exciting new products.
From new phones to headphones that provide real-time translation, we’ve rounded up the very best announcements from Wednesday event.

Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL
As expected, Google unveiled the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones and gave us quite a bit of information about the new features of both devices.
The Pixel 2 comes with a 5-inch Amoled screen, a 12.2 MP rear camera, an ‘active edge’ body similar to the HTC U11, front-facing speakers and storage variants of 64GB and 128GB.
The Pixel 2 XL sports a larger 6-inch screen, a 12.2 MP rear camera, fast charging and water resistance.
Both phones feature a portrait-mode for the front and rear cameras, and both devices will be available in a variety of colour options.
Google Home Mini and Max
Google’s new Home Mini and Home Max speakers were also revealed during the event and both will feature Google Assistant.
The larger Home Max speaker is fitted with two 4.5-inch woofers and has been described by the company as 20 times more powerful than the original Google Home speaker.
The latest laptop from the tech giant is an eye-catching laptop-tablet hybrid named the Pixelbook, and features a 12.3-inch display and a 10 hour battery life.
The Pixelbook supports the Pixelbook Pen stylus, allowing users to write and draw on the screen.
One of the more intriguing products showcased during the event were the Pixel Buds, wireless headphones that come with a real-time translation feature so you can understand other languages on the fly.
Google’s product event on Wednesday gave us a glimpse at some of the amazing new products set for release over the coming months.
