We may be past the halfway point of 2017 but smartphone aficionados should fear not as there’s still plenty of incredible new smartphones scheduled for release in the second half of the year. In today’s blog we take a look at some of the most exciting.
While we may have seen the release of the Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and the updated Nokia 3310 in 2017 already, the Nokia 8 marks the first proper flagship smartphone from new manufacturer HMD Global. The Nokia 8 is shaping up to be a particularly suitable smartphone for photography, as it’s rumoured to feature a 13MP dual camera setup on the rear with Carl Zeiss optics, which will result in truly stunning picture quality with second to none clarity. The device is also expected to feature a 13MP front camera so you can take professional quality selfies too!
Google Pixel 2
Internet giant Google released its Pixel smartphone last year to a strong critical and consumer response. This year sees the release of the Pixel’s successor, the aptly named Pixel 2, with the most recent rumours suggesting an October launch date and great new features like a curved 5.6-inch screen, a durable waterproof coating and a fingerprint scanner on the rear of the device for greater security.
Also known as the anniversary edition iPhone, the highly anticipated iPhone 8 has been the subject of a whole host of rumours and leaks over the past year. While many are expecting Apple to release its latest device in September, insiders and tipsters are indicating the smartphone may be delayed due to a supply shortage of specialised parts. Reports have suggested the iPhone 8 will feature 5.8-inch curved screen, a 12MP 3D rear camera and a bezel-less display.
