Grand Theft Auto V was the biggest game release of 2013 with sales of approximately 30 million copies. The title was originally released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but this year Rockstar Games is making the title available on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. So, what can we expect from this refreshed edition.
As you would expect, the already detailed world of Grand Theft Auto V is getting a visual makeover. Rockstar Games recently released a video, detailing some of the improvements that you can expect. The result is that the world seems more real. Wildlife, such as deer, roam the forests, there is more traffic on the roads, the day-night cycle has more distinctive elements, and the changing weather will take its toll on gameplay.
Since its release last year, Rockstar Games has been pumping out additional content for the game. Those who purchase Grand Theft Auto V on these new systems will be able to get all the free content that has been released. This includes new missions, challenges, vehicles, weapons, and even clothing options.
Of course, for the most part, this is still the same Grand Theft Auto V that graced last-gen consoles. But a re-release is the perfect excuse to spend time with the trio of Michael, Franklin and Trevor. If you haven’t finished off the truly insane story, now is as good a time as any. Plus, returning owners will be able to transfer saved characters to their new consoles, and will be able to pass the time with new content, including several mini-quests.
There’s also a new first person mode, in addition to the standard third-person view, which will let you admire Los Santos in even more detail. Of course, it also gets you closer to the grizzly action, so you may find yourself questioning your character’s motives or your own actions.
Newcomers to Grand Theft Auto V are in for a treat. It’s a big, beautiful world with plenty to do, from Hollywood-worthyheists and explosive missions to regular hobbies like tennis and hiking. The city and story are full of colourful characters. And, for the first time in Grand Theft Auto’s long-running history, you will get to jump between three protagonists, each with their own motives and outlook on life.
Whether you’re a returnee or picking up Grand Theft Auto V for the first time, there is plenty to keep you occupied and new features to toy around with. The single player portion of the game alone will entertain you for hours, and then there is the extensive multiplayer component, which offers endless possibilities.
Grand Theft Auto V is now available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will be released on PC on January 27th, 2015.
In Short: Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V finally makes its way to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Here’s what to expect from the new and improved Los Santos.
