Here at Harvey Norman we like to stay on top of the latest technology to ensure that we provide the best experience possible for our customers. This isn’t restricted to just the products we sell, but also how we provide our services and the methods we offer for payment and delivery.
Today is a special day for Harvey Norman as we have just become one of the first retailers in Ireland to introduce Apple Pay, the safe and simple way to pay for items using Apple products.
Starting from today, you can use your iPhone or Apple Watch to make contactless payments in-store, and your iPad, iPod Touch or Mac to pay for goods online or through apps.
To use Apple Pay, you must first add your debit or credit card to Apple’s Wallet. Card details are not stored on your device; an encrypted account number is instead stored on your device which is accessed and used for authorisation when purchasing an item.
Users must input the device’s passcode or confirm their identity via the Touch ID fingerprint scanner to complete a transaction, and cards stored on the Wallet can be removed if the device is stolen or lost.
To pay for an item using Apple Pay, users simply hold their iPhone with their finger on the Touch ID scanner near the contactless payment reader, or hold their Apple Watch close to the reader and double-click the side button.
Contactless payments are growing in popularity among Irish consumers and we expect Apple Pay to take off fairly quickly, which is why we’ve added this payment option to all of our stores across the country.
We’re delighted to be among the very first retailers in Ireland to offer Apple Pay and we look forward to providing this quick and easy payment method to our customers in-store and online.
