Wireless Audio is big this year, with the best in speaker systems and headphones helping you to get free from cables.
Ahead of that, we’ve quizzed some of the biggest DJs on Spin about their Story to Sound. This time, we’re chatting to Fully Charged head lady Daniella Moyles!
What is the first album you ever bought?
Spice Girls – Spice
What’s your most played song right now on iTunes/Spotify?
Jesper Jenset – High
Name your favourite and least favourite song in the charts right now?
Favourite: James Arthur – Say You Won’t Let Go
Least Favourite: Anything by The Chainsmokers
What do you think is the best way to listen to music, at home, on the radio, live etc and why?
On the radio of course! Specifically on Spin 103.8 between 6:45 and 9:45, there’s this great show on at that time called Fully Charged.
Wireless audio gives you the freedom to dance, what’s your go to dance move?
Honestly, something Rihanna-style and proud of it.
Wireless headphones are great for the gym or running, do you listen to music while you exercise? If so do you have a go-to motivational song/playlist and what’s on it?
Yes, always. I like to go for long, brisk walks a couple of times a week and my playlists are vital for keeping me motivated. I generally browse Spotify for new workout/walking/running playlists. One of my go-to songs is Oliver Heldens – Gecko.
What headphones do you use and why do you like them?
I use the Parrott ZIK 3 wireless noise cancelling headphones. I picked them up on a whim in an airport on a long layover and it’s one of my best buys ever. They have completely changed my headphone experience and I take them EVERYWHERE with me now. I don’t know how I ever travelled without them!
What speakers do have at home and why do you like them?
I just have a small portable speaker that I picked up in Beijing and take with me travelling.
What’s your favourite audio product from Harvey Norman Audio range?
The Sonos Play 5 in white is a pretty incredible piece of audio technology!
What was your first ever job in the radio industry and how did you get it?
The Cracked i on iRadio, it was a late night entertainment show and I got approached by their Programming Director after a year volunteering on the digital station FRQ.fm
What makes a presenter stand out in the industry today?
What advice would you give to people trying to get into radio presenting or production?
Get involved with a voluntary station like FRQ.fm where you can learn the ropes of using a radio desk, editing audio and executing live links. Get a demo together and send it to stations where you’d like to intern or do cover work!
Tune in to Spin 103.8 in December for amazing audio giveaways and competitions from Harvey Norman on Fully Charged and Zoo Crew.
