We’ve all done it; we’ve brewed a tea or coffee and then let it sit in a mug until it goes cold. Then we have to make up a fresh one. A new smart mug may eliminate that heartache, keeping your drink at the perfect temperature of 60-65°C for 30 minutes.
An inventor from Chorlton by the name of Thomas Gostelow has developed the Glowstone, which looks just like an ordinary mug but has some added tech up its sleeve.
The Glowstone is made of fine bone china, is dishwasher proof, features a heating element, switches off automatically when you’ve had your last sip, and can be wirelessly charged.
Gostelow is taking to Kickstarter to turn his prototypes into fully realised products, which he plans to ship in time for Christmas. The project has already raised a third of its goal. Pledging £69 or more, as part of the Super Early Bird offer, will get you a Glowstone mug and charger. The full priced Kickstarter mug will cost £89, which is still marginally less than it will cost at retail.
