Dyson revolutionised the vacuum market with its range of products, and its first hair dryer could have an equally significant impact. The Dyson Supersonic is a smart hair dryer that will take care of your frizz. And it’s coming to Harvey Norman this week!
The Dyson Supersonic monitors the air temperature 20 times a second, which is simply astounding, and adjusts it to ensure that your hair is protected from extreme heat. It’s equipped with a built-in ionizer, which de-ionizes hair, cuts down on static electricity, and keeps your hair from getting frizzy.
It dries hair up to eight times faster than the average dryer, which will be welcome news to anyone in a rush. Plus it’s much quieter than other hair dryers and while that won’t impact performance, it’s a nice added bonus.
Dyson takes the design of its devices very seriously, so it’s unsurprising that it’s done something different here too. It doesn’t look like your typical hair dryer and there’s no grill on the back of the device, so long hair isn’t going to get tangled up.
Dyson isn’t just dipping its toes into the water with this hair dryer. It spent upwards of $70 million on the development of the hair dryer, between the building testing laboratories, the hiring of engineers, and the design of the innards of the Supersonic. It also tapped into the expert knowledge of some of the best hair stylists in the business, including the Kardashian’s stylist Jen Atkin, when designing the hair dryer.
This is one hair dryer that’s going to save plenty of women from split ends, heat damage, and frizz.
The Dyson Supersonic will be available online from Harvey Norman from Friday, August 19. It will be available in-store in a matter of weeks.
