Festival Fix – Power Banks to Keep You Going

We’re pretty much neck deep in festival season, at the moment – with crowds of music loving folk heading off for weekends full of tip top tunes, and returning looking like muddy zombies.

The next stop for music fans is Longitude, which kicks off on the 15th of July and runs until the 17th.  Headliners include Kendrick Lamar, Major Lazer and The National and it’s all going down at Marlay Park in Dublin. And there’s still Castlepalooza and Electric Picnic to look forward to.

If you are heading out this weekend for the full on festival experience one thing you don’t want to be worrying about is your phone. First things first, we definitely recommend that you think about bringing a ‘festival phone’ – basically one you wouldn’t mind losing to mud or water or nefarious thieves.

Secondly, your electronics will run out of juice, and it will happen at the most inconvenient time. So we’ve got some top notch energy solutions for the festival goer.

The Box charger is one that you could easily carry around, and it looks great to boot. It’s all smooth lines and curved edges, complete with a nicely textured sandstone finish that also makes it easier to grip.

This portable charger has a capacity of 6000mAh, which is pretty large and should easily fill up your smartphone a number of times, as well as taking a tablet from zero to full. It also has an indicator light for how much power is left and can charge two items at once.

If you’re a serious power user, you might want to consider the TP Link Power Bank. This is definitely a heavier item which might be best left in your tent, but it’s also massively useful thanks to 10400mAh of energy.

That could charge your phone up to five times, and also works great with tablets and cameras. It even comes with dual ports and quick charge technology, so you won’t be waiting around while it works. There’s also a flashlight, which could come in really handy.
