The Story of Jesus to be released as 90 Minute VR Movie!

Virtual Reality cinema is coming, which will give viewers the chance to look around in any direction while they’re watching a film. Imagine something that immersive during the biggest action sequences, or that intimate during a dramatic moment.

The latest project in the works is something pretty extraordinary – it’s a 90 minute feature which has been shot entirely in 4K and 360 degree video for the full surround experience. And it’s going to tell a familiar tale.

Jesus VR – The Story of Christ is an ambitious film which has been put together by some of the same people behind Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ. That 2004 feature went onto become the highest grossing indie film of all time, and now the story is back with the addition of cutting edge technology.

The film will show the major events in the life of Jesus Christ from his birth until the resurrection in an entirely new way. The technology will allow and VR headset user to immerse themselves completely in the story. That includes Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, PlayStation VR and smartphone versions.

Jesus VR is expected to release around Christmas 2016, bringing a whole new perspective to one of the most well known stories of all time.
