Digital Awards 2020: Harvey Norman in contention for Online Retailer of the Year

At the beginning of December, leading digital business representative body, Digital Business Ireland, announced the finalists of the national Digital Awards. Digital Business Ireland, in partnership with title sponsor, permanent tsb, launched the inaugural Digital Awards in October in order to recognise the best digital, ecommerce and innovation businesses in Ireland while celebrating talent across the industry.

The Awards consist of thirteen categories including; Website of the Year, New Website of the Year, Online Retailer of the Year, Health, Beauty and Well-being Website of the Year, Food, Beverage Website of the Year, Digital Marketing Campaign of the Year, Digital Impact of the Year, Innovation Hub of the Year, App of the Year, Digital Trailblazer of the Year, Influencer of the Year, Next Generation and Women in Digital.

Harvey Norman is delighted to announce that it is one of five finalists competing for the title of Online Retailer of the Year!


Our approach to digital is to provide our online customers with an in-store experience as much as possible. To do this we have added an arsenal of applications and services to our website.

VideoChat allows customers to see and talk to an expert member of the sales team who is based in one of the stores and can share video as they talk about each product. Our LiveChat service has proven very popular. It enables our staff to provide customers with the expert knowledge and insight that they are renowned for.

Click & Scale lets customers fit TVs, appliances, sofas, dining furniture and bedroom furniture into a room that they can customise to be as close to their own room as possible. Augmented Reality (AR) is another innovative way to let customers view the product in their home before they buy. By using their phone to browse the website, customers can place products in the room they want to buy it for and ensure it suits their space and decor.

Try It In Your Space allows customers to see what a rug would look like in their home before buying it. It’s super easy to use. Customers simply upload a photo of their room, or select one of Harvey Norman’s inspiration rooms and they can then shop a wide selection of rugs.
