Apple can’t get away from the rumours that it’s working on a large iPad, which is likely to clock in between 12- and 13-inches in size.
Code found in iOS 9 suggests that the device will feature an ultra high-resolution display. It’s thought that the iPad Pro’s resolution could be 2732 x 2048, with 264 pixels per inch.
By comparison, the current iPad Air 2 features a resolution of 2048×1536 at 9.7-inches. That means that the iPad Pro will nearly have the width resolution of two 9.7-inch iPads running next to each other.
It was also discovered that the UIKeyboard can scale to a much larger size than before. Again, this suggests that Apple is readying a larger iPad variant.
Apple is expected to announce the iPad Pro this autumn. It’s thought that the device will be aimed at professionals and students, and will be more useful for working on the go.
All may be revealed soon, but developers will spend more time digging into iOS 9’s code until then for any little detail they can find.
