Instagram gets new filters and emoji!

Get ready to express yourself more vividly with new filters and more from Instagram.

Almost five years on from its launch in 2010, Instagram has become a massive success, pulling in more than 300 million active users and dominating the online photo sharing world.

And it’s still going, thanks to some extra power via a little company called Facebook, and pushing out regular updates to its users.

The most recent adds three new filters – which are the lifesblood of any proper Instagram user. The new looks are called Lark, Reyes and Juno. As with most of the recent additions to the mix, they’re subtle filters which help to accentuate your photos rather than just obscuring them in a haze.

It’s been an important move for Instagram to process, as smartphone cameras become more powerful they’re tools have to be part of the editing package, rather than a way to fix a terrible photo.

And now, for the first time, you’ll be able to use emoji hashtags on Instagram! It’s yet another unique way to express yourself on the platform and you’ll be able to find them on the explore page and add them to your posts with just a tap.

The new version of Instagram with these updates is available on iOS and Android now.

In Short: The social photo sharing service Instagram has picked up another update, this time bringing new filters and hashtag emoji
