Back at CES 2018, Samsung announced the mighty 146-inch ‘wallpaper’ 4K TV, The Wall, to rave reviews.
An 80mm thick widescreen TV that instantly transforms any wall into a cinema, The Wall is definitely one of the most exciting TVs of recent years and will undoubtedly set the standard for home entertainment for years to come.
However, a report from the Korea Herald suggests Samsung will launch a second, smaller model measuring approx. 74-inches and 30mm thick at some stage next year.
The larger 146-inch model goes into mass production in September but we’re yet to hear when The Wall will be available to purchase.
The report also stated that while The Wall is aimed at the luxury home market, it will not be as expensive as people are expecting.
Both models use Samsung’s advanced MicroLED technology and feature a module-based, bezel-less design that can be used for multiple purposes such as a wall-size display.
MicroLED delivers amazing colours, black levels and brightness, resulting in a spectacular viewing experience that leaves a smile on your face.
At CES 2018, Jonghee Han, President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics said:
“As the world’s first consumer modular MicroLED television, ‘The Wall’ represents another breakthrough… We’re excited about this next step along our roadmap to the future of screen technology, and the remarkable viewing experience it offers to consumers.”
The Wall isn’t the only eye-catching TV Samsung’s working on, as the company recently announced the 2018 edition of the arty The Frame TV, and you can sign up today to learn more about the latest Samsung Galaxy Handset once it launches early next month.
