Irish Beer and Whiskey Festival

Friday, March 13th – Tuesday, March 17th

This celebration of Irish beverages gives visitors the chance to taste some of the country’s finest beers and whiskeys. But there’s more to the festival than sample drinks; visitors can also find out about the history of their favourite drinks, taste artisan food, attend masterclasses, hear from brewers and experts, and enjoy live music throughout the day. With the weekend that’s in it, the Six Nations will be shown live, featuring a live panel with RTE’s Dermot Rigley, and ex-Irish international players Niall Woods and Shane Byrne.

Kilkenny TradFest 2015

Saturday, March 14th – Tuesday, March 17th

Kilkenny will welcome some of the biggest names on the Irish traditional music and dance scene over the St. Patrick’s weekend. The festival will take over the city with a variety of indoor and outdoor concerts, children’s craft workshops, master classes, dancing, family events, and ceilis. Those who want to experience intimate trad music pub session will appreciate the Trad Trail, which will see a number of sessions taking place across the city. There will be plenty to see, do, and experience over the weekend across the city.

Harbour2Harbour Walk 2015

If you feel like taking a stroll on St. Patrick’s Day, the 10th annual Harbour2Harbour walk could be just the ticket. Walkers can start in Howth Harbour and walk to Dun Laoghaire Harbour or vice versa, taking in the pleasant vistas along the way. Not only will there be extra activities and treats along the route, but there promises to be plenty of entertainment and food stalls at each of the starting points and destinations. Not only will you reap the benefits of being physically active for the day, but you will be supporting the work of Aware.

St. Patrick’s Festival Parade

Dublin will come to life to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the annual festival parade. This year will feature bands from the USA, Germany and Ireland, alongside a spectacular procession with colourful pageantry and theatrics. The parade will start on Parnell Street and will make its way to O’Connell Bridge, down Dame Street, passing by Christchurch Cathedral, and finishing just past St. Patrick’s Cathedral. It’s a fun-filled day out for the whole family, and it’s completely free unless you decide to treat yourself to a grandstand seat.
