Microsoft Could Be Set to Announce a Laptop-Smartphone Hybrid


Microsoft has a major press conference on the way later on today, which is all about confirming the details of their upcoming Windows 10 operating system update. But there could be more reveals on the way.

There are rumours circulating that the tech giants could also announce an entirely new product line – some kind of laptop-smartphone hybrid. It would be intended to show off the enhanced capabilities of Windows 10, which is said to scale to all kinds of different devices.

It’s not clear yet what exact form the new device will take, but the most likely is that it will be a large screened smartphone with some kind of integrated keyboard. The target audience will be business folks who value productivity, with MS possibly interested in grabbing a little of the market share currently owned by Blackberry.

The event is being held at the Redmond campus in Washington and will also confirm changes to the Windows Phone app store as well as revealing more details on Windows 10.
