Our lead designer Rachel McCann took us behind the scenes of the catalogue shoot for our Autumn/Winter 2015 ‘Love Your Home’ collection. As well as giving us an exclusive look at the best new accessories hitting Harvey Norman shelves, she gave us an insider update on the hottest interior trends for the upcoming Autumn/Winter season.
So what you should you be looking out for?
Style of the moment: Nordic Neutral
Scandinavian style is all the rage for this Autumn/Winter. Think neutral tones with tons of texture; white washed walls with bursts of colour in the form of throws, cushions and accessories, paired with wood and lots of light. It’s easy to achieve in any home, and adding your own personal style twist is even easier.
The ‘it’ colours: Rust orange, copper, and mustard yellow
Mustard yellow has proved itself to be a firm favourite for the past few seasons, and it’s still going strong this time around. However, there’s a new kid in town; rust orange. This bold shade adds both warmth and fun to any room, and is a fantastic way to add a pop of colour to your Nordic neutral theme. Similarly, copper is making a big comeback – perfect for adding a hint of metallic chic to a scheme.
Must have patterns: Tribal, Aztec, and animals!
Tribal and Aztec prints have exploded onto the interiors scene, and you’ll find plenty of them throughout Harvey Norman stores this season. Whether it’s a small accent cushion or some eye-catching bed linen, it’s sure to inject some exotic style. Animals – especially elephants – are also a huge trend according to Rachel, with everything from foxes to stags making an appearance.
The ‘Love Your Home’ catalogue and collection will be hitting stores this August.
