Padraig Harrington Visits the Harvey Norman Sleep Studio!

We were delighted to welcome Irish golfing legend Padraig Harrington to our Carrickmines store last week for a special event: the measuring of his very own pillow! Padraig is a firm believer in the importance of a good night’s sleep and how a good sleeping posture is the key to waking up feeling refreshed and ready for the day. Indeed, Padraig put a difficult performance during last year’s Olympics down to sleeping on a “dodgy pillow”, hence his visit to the Harvey Norman Sleep Studio.

Numerous scientific studies have proven that the body’s spinal position in bed affects the quality of our sleep and in turn, how well rested we feel in the morning. Kulwinder Bajwa, a leading UK Osteopath, has identified that keeping the spine and head in straight alignment, not titled downwards or upwards, is the most important element for ensuring good posture when sleeping. It relieves strains and allows muscles to relax, which improves your comfort and enables you to fully rest when sleeping. To achieve correct spinal alignment, we recommend that you find the pillow size that fills the gap between your head and shoulder. At Harvey Norman’s Sleep Studio, pillows are sized from 1 to 5 and you can choose from four types of pillow; Fibre, Memory Foam, Gel, and Down & Feather.

We measured Padraig and found that a pillow size 3 was the right option for him. He chose a Gel and Memory Foam pillow, and was very happy with both how quick the process was and how comfortable his new pillow felt. Harvey Norman launched Ireland’s first pillow size system at the Sleep Studio precisely for this reason; to help you find the perfect pillow size in just 30 seconds and ensure you have the best night’s sleep possible. Please check out our Pillow Buying Guide for further information and don’t forget that our high-quality pillows start from as low as €25!
