We’re two weeks into our New Year New You drive, but the next few weeks and months are crucial. Keeping motivation up is key as it becomes more tempting to just sit and watch TV rather than go to the gym or get takeaway a couple of times in the week because you’re working late.
One way to keep yourself motivated is to take progress pictures to show you how far you’ve come on your journey. MyFitnessPal, a great app for logging your food throughout the day and keeping tabs on your calorie intake, macros, and weight loss progress, now lets you add Progress Pictures to your profile.
When updating your current weight in the app, there’s a new camera icon which you can tap to take a picture. If you’re not in a suitable location or just not in the mood there and then, you can go back and add a picture later.
These progress pictures can be shared immediately on social media if you want to fill people in on how you’re getting on or provide inspiration to some friends. Pictures are private by default, so it’s up to you if you want to share them or not.
Keeping them for yourself gives you an illustration of how far you’ve come over time. You can flick back through pictures or compare some side-by-side to see the difference.
The feature is being rolled out on Android and iOS from today and will be added to the web platform in the near future.
