With Harvey Norman celebrating Sleep Pink during the month of October in aid of the Marie Keating Foundation, Dublin singer Ronan Keating has spoken about how much the charity means to him.
“This year marks 20 years since Mam passed away from breast cancer, so it is a very special year for us, not just for the Keating Family but also for the Foundation.”
Keating is encouraging bed time enthusiasts to pop into a Harvey Norman store and pick up a mattress from the Sleep Pink Range. Having worked hard to create the Marie mattress, Harvey Norman will donate €100 for every Marie Mattress sold.
The former Boyzone star spoke about the inspiration behind the new campaign, divulging on his personal sleeping habits. He said that the secret to a healthy night’s rest is finding the right balance.
He admits he has no time for the snooze button when it comes to waking up in the morning.
Between planning a new Boyzone album, a farewell tour and raising a family, Keating has said he posses the unique ability to get straight out of bed when his alarm rings in the morning.
“Straight up, no time to snooze anymore”, he quips.
Having been blessed with a baby that doesn’t stir during his sleep, Keating considers himself lucky in finding a good night’s rest.
“Cooper is a great sleeper so we’ve been lucky, he doesn’t disturb us too much when we finally do get to bed. Balance is important for me because there are nights where I have to be out late for work or at an event but I will always try to catch up on my sleep when I can after a hectic few days or weeks”.
Keating also spoke about his excitement about his upcoming musical projects. “The album is so close to our hearts and is such a poignant farewell to all our fans who have supported us for so long. We did a few gigs this summer to prepare and get ourselves warmed up and the reception has just been brilliant”.
