Are you passionate about cooking and Irish food with experience as a professional chef. And are you between the ages of 18 and 26? Then you’ll want to get entering Young Chef of the Year 2014!
The Euro-Toques Young Chef of the Year, in partnership with Failte Ireland, was established in 1990 with the intention of showcasingpassionate culinary sorts who were talented in the cooking department and eager to share their skills with the world.
For 2014, the theme of the competition is ‘No Chef is an Island’ and its up to you how you interpret that! There are multiple stages in the selection process, starting with a social media entry stage, a written stage and an interview. After that the five chosen finalists will battle it out during the final culinary test, all presided over by renowned chef Phil Howard (The Square, London).
For the first, social media, stage of the process, entrants are being given a huge amount of freedom. So long as you have a link to post, you can do whatever you like – though they do have some guidelines on length for videos, etc on the main entry page. Entries will only be accepted online and only until the 30th of September 2014. The final will be held in Dublin on Sunday the 23rd of November 2014.
