Simple Christmas Almond Shortbread Biscuit Recipe


If your a shortbread kind of person why not whip up theses delicious and simple almond short breads. Ready in less than an hour these treats are easy to make and a lovely treat for after dinner.


225g butter

115g caster sugar

220g flour

115g ground almonds

Icing sugar for dusting


Preheat oven to 160°C CircoTherm.

  1. Beat the butter until soft. Add the caster sugar and beat well until light and fluffy. On a slow speed, add the flour and ground almonds. Mix until just combined.
  2. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured board and cut into star or Christmas tree shapes using a lightly floured cutter. Place on baking sheets, lined with parchment paper and chill for 20 minutes.
  3. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.
  4. Dust with icing sugar before serving.
