If your a shortbread kind of person why not whip up theses delicious and simple almond short breads. Ready in less than an hour these treats are easy to make and a lovely treat for after dinner.
115g caster sugar
115g ground almonds
Icing sugar for dusting
Preheat oven to 160°C CircoTherm.
- Beat the butter until soft. Add the caster sugar and beat well until light and fluffy. On a slow speed, add the flour and ground almonds. Mix until just combined.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured board and cut into star or Christmas tree shapes using a lightly floured cutter. Place on baking sheets, lined with parchment paper and chill for 20 minutes.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.
- Dust with icing sugar before serving.
