The Great British Bake Off’s Return Could Be Delayed By Olympics

For the past two seasons, The Great British Bake Off has aired at the beginning of August, but the Olympics in Rio will likely stand in its way this year.

The Great British Bake Off will likely get underway on August 24 this year, the first Wednesday after the Olympics conclude, though it could air as late as August 31. The series will run for its usual ten weeks with some top bakers whipping up delicious treats and savoury dishes.

The usual judges, Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood, will return along with colour commentary and introductions from Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc.

If you’re hoping to follow along, it’s a good time to stock up on kitchen equipment. The KitchenAid Artisan Food Mixer, for example, has been used on the show thanks to its diverse functionality, and we’re sure its stylish appearance doesn’t do it any harm either.

We’ll be counting down the days until The Great British Bake Off is back on screens and providing us with plenty of inspiration in the kitchen.
