Apple makes some really lovely stuff, from iPads to iPhones to MacBooks and even the very useful Apple TV. They’re gorgeously designed, highly functional and they also smell really, really good.
Part of the joy of getting some new tech is the experience of opening up the box for the first time and that includes catching the scent of the shiny delights inside.
If you’re craving a little more of that new smell, you’re in luck because a company in the US has developed a candle which recreates it. And the candle is called New Mac.
Yes this is a real product which is actually on sale. It’s hand poured in South Carolina and made from 100% soy wax and has a burning time of up to 55 hours – which is pretty impressive.
The main scents included are Mint, Peach, Basil, Lavender, Mandarin and Sage. We’re going to go ahead and assume that Apple doesn’t pack many of those ingredients into their products but it does sound like it would be pleasant on the nose.
The folks over at Mac Stadium are very familiar with Macs and took a sniff or two, saying: “On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d give it an accuracy score of 9.” They also mentioned that it might be a little too citrus-y.
The New Mac candle is currently out of stock but more will be available later in October.
