Google updated its iOS Cardboard app to bring its functionality more in line with its Android counterpart. Now, YouTube’s entire catalogue of videos can be enjoyed in VR on iPhone.
Previously, only a selection of curated 360-degree videos could be watched in this way. Android users, on the other hand, have been able to watch any video of their choosing through Google Cardboard for some time and now iPhone users have the same freedom.
To enable Cardboard mode when watching a video, simply tap the screen when it starts playing. Tap on the three dots in the top right corner and then tap the Cardboard icon.
More virtual reality news is expected this week as Google hosts its annual IO event. Android VR, for example, is rumoured to be announced at the event.
