In addition to providing homes right across Ireland with the very best in furniture, we are sometimes lucky enough to get the chance to use our expertise to help those in need.
Most recently, we were approached by Marymount University Hospital, a very well-known Hospice located just outside of Cork City, with the idea of rejuvenating the hospital’s reception / common area plus the bedrooms in which the families of patients stay overnight when visiting.
Of course we were absolutely delighted to support this worthy cause and we tasked our staff members Jamie Purcell and James Adams from our Kinsale Road store with taking charge of this important project.
They teamed up with Ita Mohally of Marymount University Hospital, and work began back in October of last year.
James completed the bedroom overhaul fairly quickly and by December of last year we had finished refurnishing these areas.
We were particularly happy with how the bedrooms turned out and hope that they help the families of patients to feel comfortable and of course get a good night’s sleep when visiting their loved ones in hospital.
The reception / common area was completed in April and features some of Harvey Norman’s most popular pieces of dining room and living room furniture, including a very cosy leather sofa and a beautiful wooden dining table.
The Marymount University Hospital refurnishing was funded through donations and is definitely one of the most rewarding projects we have been involved with.
We’d like to offer our thanks to Ita Mohally and everyone at Marymount University Hospital for this wonderful opportunity and to Jamie Purcell and James Adams for all their hard work.
