After his documented 60 day juice fast was seen by more than 20 million people, Joe Cross realised that he still had a lot to learn about becoming healthy and staying that way. Despite having every intention not to appear on camera again, he found that his documentation of the process helped people change their lives. So, he decided to do it all again for Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead 2.
The documentary will be shown on TV3 on May 4th. If you can’t wait quite that long, it is currently available to stream on Netflix. This time around, Joe goes on the road to learn about being healthy in an unhealthy world. He travels the world to meet with experts, follow up with people who appeared in the first film five years ago, and meet new people. Each of these encounters helps him realise that healthy eating is only one aspect of living a healthy life. To his surprise, he learns that a sense of community is hugely important.
Of course, anyone who travels frequently is all too aware of how tricky it can be to eat well. Along the way, Joe has his own food battles and has ups-and-downs controlling his own weight. His journey mirrors the stories of the everyday people that he meets along the way.
Joe Cross has been a long-time believer in the benefits juicing. There’s no doubt that juicing makes it far easier to get your recommended daily intake of fruits and vegetables. It may take a little longer than pouring a glass from a carton, but there are more benefits to be found in something you make yourself.
Getting yourself a good juicer is essential. There are a variety of models available to purchase. Joe is an advocate for Sage, one of the premium brands available. In fact, Sage machines are sometimes referred to as the ‘Rolls Royce’ of juicers.
