IFA 2016 is taking place in Berlin right now, with the biggest names in technology coming from all over the world to show off their latest wares.
One big announcements came from Drop, an Irish start up which introduced a smart scales into the market last year. This connected scales interacts with a unique app and recipe book which helps lead you step by step through the instructions for preparing your favourite dishes.
Now Drop is getting even better through a major new partnership with electronics giants Bosch. The way it works is by pairing up smart tech products to make your kitchen more intelligent.
So you might be working through a recipe on the Drop app when it calls for the oven to be pre heated to a certain temperature. Using the app and Bosch’s Home Connect software you’ll be able to turn on on the oven right from the app, and then get back to measuring ingredients exactly using the Drop scale.
“We’re excited to officially announce that we are partnering with Bosch to truly make the connected kitchen a reality for everyone,” said Ben Harris, CEO of Drop.
“Imagine your blender knowing how much of an ingredient you need to add to get the right proportions for your favorite smoothie, or your oven preheating at the right time for the recipe you are making and turning off when your food is ready, or even being able to filter your recipes by what you have in your smart fridge.
These ideas no longer seem fantastical. Your kitchen will be smarter, and we are excited to announce Bosch as our first partner and take this giant leap forward to being the Kitchen platform.”
This is just the beginning of a partnership which is going to develope and grow over the next few years, all while making your kitchen life easier and more accessible for all.
Stay tuned for more from IFA 2016.
